Yellow Dock, or Rumex crispus, is a deep-rooted tonic herb renowned for its cleansing, revitalizing, and blood-strengthening properties. Its long, curly leaves and golden-yellow roots grow wild in rich, damp soil — drawing nutrients deep from the earth to deliver one of nature’s finest detoxifying and mineral-restoring herbs.
Traditionally called a “blood purifier,” Yellow Dock supports the liver and lymphatic system, helping the body remove waste and absorb nutrients more effectively. It’s particularly valued for supporting iron levels and improving skin conditions that arise from sluggish elimination, such as acne, eczema, or dull complexion.
When taken as a tea or tincture, Yellow Dock stimulates bile flow, tones digestion, and enhances nutrient absorption — making it a wonderful ally for those experiencing fatigue, poor circulation, or digestive stagnation.
How to Use:
Pairs Well With:
Element: Earth & Water
Chakra Alignment: Root & Solar Plexus
Energetically, Yellow Dock is a grounding and purifying herb that teaches balance through release. It cleanses not just the physical blood, but also the emotional and spiritual “buildup” that weighs us down. It encourages flow — in body, mind, and energy.
Energetic Signature: Cleansing, grounding, restorative.
Affirmation:
“I release stagnation and allow new energy to flow freely through me.”
Our Yellow Dock roots are wildcrafted and ethically harvested from the nutrient-rich soils of the United States, dug in autumn when their medicinal potency is at its peak. Each root is cleaned, sliced, and dried slowly to preserve its golden hue and potent bitters.
Yellow Dock is one of my favorite “reset herbs.” It nourishes, cleanses, and rebuilds from the inside out. I love blending it with Burdock and Dandelion Root in our Blood Purifier or Autoimmune Protocols, where it works to strengthen circulation and renew the skin.
“Yellow Dock reminds us that true radiance begins beneath the surface — in the blood, the gut, and the flow of life itself.”
