Wildflower honey is the first honey crop we make each year in the Florida Panhandle. Spring comes early in this part of the country, with maple trees coming into bloom by late January. Then follows a succession of flowering plants (trees, bushes and flowers) that each produce varying amounts of nectar. The bees bring these sweet nectars back to the hive an turn it into a poly-floral honey that is dark in color and robust in flavor. Due to it's reddish hue, Florida locals often call it "red honey." If you are using raw honey for allergy relief, this honey with over a dozen different types of pollen is a good choice.
